What Kind of Business Should I Start?
Dear reader,
A wave of truth hit me this morning during my time with God. I was meditating on Shamgar and his feats while obeying God’s leadership in his life. And I became jealous.
It’s no secret that I’ve been in the process of starting a business, but I’d be lying if I said it’s been going great. Many parts of running a business is outside of my control, and that is infuriating some days.
But other parts are extremely easy to neglect and ignore, and I have gotten rather good at avoiding them.
My natural stance of passivity is not honoring towards God.
It’s so easy to sit back and pray “God, provide for me, protect me, I’m going to go watch TV.”
That’s not been my every day, but there have been moments here and there where I expect God to do something as I just sit back and watch.
What God wants is for me to do the work laid before me. To take the tools he’s given me and use them to work in the field He’s placed me to serve.
Most of my work is in the online space. Which is not something I inherently wanted, but if that’s the field God wants me to work I need to listen to my master and put in the work to do it to the best of my ability.
Do you like the field God’s placed you?
Are the lost and the brokenhearted clearly in view?
Have you sought them out to love and serve them well?
I was challenged by God today to take seriously the gifts and tools he’s given me.
Which means I need to go, I’ve got work to do.
Sincerely,
Your Fellow Worker
