Our decisions, behaviors, and leadership shape the witness of Christ we present to the world. The standard for our leadership goes beyond worldly success—it must reflect God's Word and bring glory to Him in all we do. With this in mind, here are seven biblical principles to guide us as we lead with integrity, wisdom, and faith.
1. Lead with a Servant’s Heart
Jesus showed us that authentic leadership is rooted in serving others. He modeled this by washing His disciples' feet, demonstrating that leadership in God’s kingdom looks vastly different from leadership in the world (John 13:12-15). As leaders, we are called to serve, not to be served. This doesn’t mean avoiding tough decisions or leadership authority, but having a heart that prioritizes the well-being of those we lead, understanding their needs, and lifting them.
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." (Matthew 20:26-28).

"The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who are trustworthy." (Proverbs 12:22).
6. Exercise Patience and Self-Control

However, scripture reminds us that patience and self-control are the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Whether we’re managing a team, negotiating a deal, or making a decision, our primary aim should be to honor God. This requires us to constantly assess our motives and actions, ensuring they align with God’s will and reflect His character. Leadership isn’t just about achieving success—it’s about doing so in a way that demonstrates God’s greatness.
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31).
