Is God Your Lord?
Dear reader,
Do you view God rightly?
In the Garden of Eden, a very crucial thing happened.
Yes, this is the location of the fall of man, but something else occurred that is often overlooked.
Adam was introduced after he was made to God as “The Lord God”
Yahweh.
When Adam interacted with God in the Garden, it was always. “The Lord God”.
This is important to notice, look at what happens next.
When Satan tempts Eve he explicitly says “Did God truly say that you would die?”
Right then and there Satan stripped God of His lordship, his authority and power. Satan’s view of God was minuscule, and he aimed to spread that view to The Lord God’s children.
Lord means Master. Which as you might recognize from my letters on slavery, is a hot topic for me at this time. When you are calling God your Lord and Master, you are declaring His power and authority over your life.
Every part of it.
I am a terrible servant. I can easily make my own way seem more appealing than God’s and act upon it knowing full well that The Lord God wouldn’t have me do it this way.
I was confronted with this truth the other night. I was asked the question do I view God as My Lord? My Master?
Truthfully, not consistently. Some days and mornings when I am walking in alignment and the truth it is easy for me to say “Lord God, what do you have for me today?”
On other days it is very easy to take the day by the horns and ride the bull till sunset. Not giving The Lord God any say in how I behave and speak throughout this day.
Today I must ask you this, do you view God as your Lord? Do you treat him and speak to Him with the honor and respect He is infinitely due?
I am struggling to submit to Him, but I’m grateful that He allows me to wrestle and struggle with Him in this way. He’ll win me over, I know it.
He’s My Lord God.
Sincerely,
Your Somewhat Stubborn Servant
