If I Was a Disciple

July 14, 20252 min read

If I was a disciple I would have dropped everything.

If I was a disciple I would have left my parents.

If I was a disciple I wouldn’t have given it a second thought.

If I was a disciple I would ask Jesus so many questions.

If I was a disciple I would have asked for miracles 24/7.

If I was a disciple I would have been quiet unless spoken to.

If I was a disciple I would be hesitant in radical behavior.

If I was a disciple I would’ve been questioning Jesus the entire time.

If I was a disciple I would have abused so much grace.

If I was a disciple I would want more power each day.

If I was a disciple I would pester Jesus about questions that don’t need answers.

If I was a disciple I would have been annoying.

If I was a disciple I would have missed my parents.

If I was a disciple I would have gone hungry now and then.

If I was a disciple I would have walked with Jesus as close as possible.

If I was a disciple I would have corrected the other disciples when I saw fit.

If I was a disciple Jesus would have corrected me.

If I was a disciple Jesus would have given me mercy.

If I was a disciple Jesus would give me His time and energy.

If I was a disciple Jesus would simplify things so I could catch a glimpse of eternal things.

If I was a disciple I’d be a mess.

If I was a disciple I’d be needy.

If I was a disciple I’d be angry.

If I was a disciple I’d be controlling.

If I was a disciple I would have cut off the servant’s ear.

If I was a disciple I would have doubted Jesus’ resurrection.

If I was a disciple I would have fallen while walking on water.

If I was a disciple I would have denied Jesus three times.

I’m no different than the imperfect men who walked with Jesus.

They had flaws and shortcomings.

Yet Jesus still chose them to follow Him.

I am a disciple, a follower of the one true King.

Only because He called to me and I responded.

Are you a disciple?
