How To Stand Out in a Crowd

June 25, 20252 min read

Dear reader,

I urge you in a very strange manner.

I want you to stand out. Most people seek attention and love from others, so they dress in provocative ways or grow their ego so it can be seen from the moon.

That’s not how I encourage you to stand out.

For those of you who call Heaven your home, you know that this world is disintegrating with each passing day. Which means one truth must be at the front of our minds.

Jesus is coming soon.

I don’t say that to spark the flame of the doomsday preppers. There is no amount of preparation you could possibly achieve that would have any lasting effects when Jesus returns, except for this one command.

When Jesus left the earth after His resurrection he gave marching orders, to help the disciples and The Church to stay busy while He was away, and even though the great commission was given very long ago, it still rings true today in everything we do.

Matthew 28:19-20 says this

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This passage has been a flame to my heart for the past 4 years now. I didn’t take it seriously when I heard it growing up, but now whenever I read it, it’s as if God Himself is speaking into my everyday life.

Whatever I do in this life is to glorify God, (1 Corinthians 10:31) and this mission is to bleed into all I say and do.

I’m supposed to GO. I’m not to wait for people to come to me.

I’m supposed to MAKE DISCIPLES. I’m to train others in the ways of Jesus.

I’m supposed to BAPTIZE THEM. I’m to show that a life fully committed to God is worth living.

I’m supposed to TEACH. I’m to know God’s word and teach it actively.

These commands are not just for pastors or missionaries. This is for The Church, anyone who professes that Jesus is their savior, this is your calling to step up.

The world is only going to get worse.

We need to be willing to stand out and look a bit odd as we share the only hope in this life, and teach them to fix their perspectives onto the next life.

This great commission blends into our businesses, our families, and our lives.

What needs to be realigned in your life to this Kingdom Calling?

Sincerely,

Your Fellow Odd One Out
