never ignore God

Don't Ignore the Holy Spirit

Dear reader,

I love Pooh Bear. If you don’t know who I am referencing go and search “Pooh Bear” on Google then come back to this letter.

There’s been a strange connection towards this character throughout my lifetime, but I wanted to shed some light on the most overlooked character of the Hundred Acre Woods.

Piglet.

Piglet is a very small pig, he is quiet, he is passive, and he is extremely overlooked.

Recently my family watched the film Piglet’s Big Movie, in this tale showed how Piglet was involved deeply in every short story that was told, yet everyone completely overlooked him.

It is honestly gut-wrenching to watch it play out. One by one each character is hit with the reality of ignoring or passing him by. Not with evil intent, but either their pride or ignorance leads their eyes over his small head.

As I watched it I was struck with a personal conflict in my own life.

“Who’s my Piglet?”

Very easily I responded with “The Holy Spirit.” After that response was verbalized it slowly made me sick. Why did I answer in this way?

It’s easy to forget about the Holy Spirit is it not?

Honestly, when was the last time you spoke with Him or even acknowledged his work in your life?

I’m not proud to admit it, but I clearly forget about Him all the time. And that’s not right. He is a part of God’s Character. He is the Spirit of the Living God.

There should be no reason for him to be forgotten. Yet, it’s so easily the case.

Today as I write this to you I am growing in my conviction of The Forgotten Part of God.

As I go about my days I want to be filled with the Spirit of Life and Love.

I want to be quiet and still so I can hear His leading.

That my humility would increase so I can be corrected by His voice.

I don’t know if you know this, but the Holy Spirit is all throughout scripture.

I didn’t get a proper introduction to Him until I was 23 years old.

Today I implore you, to make the introduction to Him if you never have.

Seek out scripture and make the effort to learn what He does within your life.

Give Him the credit he is due.

He is the Spirit of God!

He is worthy to be praised.

Sincerely,

A Forgetful Worshiper
